3d Game Engines as a New Reality

چکیده

Three-Dimensional (3D) Game Engines are large and complex, but very efficient at creating huge, artificial worlds for entertainment. As they mature, they improve and mimic the real world ever more realistically than competing Virtual Reality (VR) systems. In the present paper, we describe the key components that form a modern 3D Game Engine such as the ‘Source’ or ‘Quake III’ engines (by Valve Software and id Software respectively), how realistically they create their worlds, as well as their alternative purposes. This contribution discusses whether current engines are or will become suitable candidates to develop a virtual world based on our own.
